Investment Objectives
The objective of the investment allocation will be to provide for grant-making liquidity and long-term growth.
Investment Management
The American Center of Philanthropy board of directors has delegated the investment of funds to a registered investment manager. At present, Carlson Capital Management has been selected to provide investment management services. ACP has sole responsibility and authority for investing ACP’s assets and may change the allocation of the assets at any time. ACP provides model portfolios tailored to the individual donor advised funds. Depending on the size of the account, ACP will allocate to the model portfolios or develop a customized investment strategy. The building blocks for these portfolios are primarily institutional asset class index mutual funds. For a more detailed understanding of the model portfolios, please contact us.
Investment Allocation Selection
At the time the account is opened, ACP will assess the liquidity needs of a donor’s charitable gift account and then make the appropriate investment allocation based on the assessment.
Reporting
All account-holders receive monthly custodial reports that include account balance and transactions. Donors also receive an annual report that summarizes all account activities that can be used for tax reporting purposes.
